Recruiters Beware

Answering a reader's question concerning information on applicant's CV for senior vacancy within the questioner's busines,s Jonathan Moules of the Financial Times confirms my own view, indeed my own experience: "you cannot assume that CVs and supporting documents are what they seem.  Neither should you be tempted to take short cuts to fill an urgent post."  I have many times seen situations where such short cuts turn out to be very expensive longer term problems.  Recruit in haste - and live to regret it.   Take as much time as necessary and be sure you are making good recruitment decisions.  Take as much time as when you are considering purchasing a very expensive and critical piece of equipment/a tool for your business - because that is precisely what you are doing when you make a recruitment decision.
